SHIT VIEWS, pictures the skyscapes and nature within central London. By wandering through what was a ghost-town at dawn and shooting their exquisitely lit surroundings, the artists capture the nature that is often overlooked within this densely populated capital city. At the same time, the artists methodically collected manure from the animals that live within this urban space, which was then transformed into paper on which each composition is printed. Thereby the works are a marriage of sculpture and photography.
Created during the 2020/2021 Lockdown in central London, the heavily processed paper combines elements of hair, excrement, and pulped pages from the artists’ notebooks that captured desires and dreams.
Each photographic sculpture is then painted, gilded and sealed in resin. The resulting three dimensional disc evoke references to the planets, the cyclic nature of our existence and our relationships to intimacy’s attraction & aversion with a playful transcendence.
