Light Of Our Lives is a unique practice of Walter & Zoniel. Between the hours of dusk and dawn the artist duo walk through the cities and rural terrains that they find themselves in, absorbing their environment. Following each other in turn, one of the artists shoots abstract images of the things that catch their eye, whilst the other artist shoots them capturing that exact moment. A unique insight into the image and an exposure of the photographer as the subject.
The two resulting images are exhibited side by side as diptychs. All images are shot using only found light, on identical cameras and strictly using no flash. The artists simply move through the space that draws them, recording, momentarily effecting and leaving as it was found.
Their practice is a poetic act of meditative exploration, voyeurism and devotion, to creation and to one another.
