Constellations Of Toki address Walter & Zoniel’s recurring themes of mythology, symbolism and the human relationship with the celestial. As a personal response to their own site specific installation - The Physical Possibility Of Inspiring Imagination In The Mind Of Somebody Living, which was placed to evoke inspiration, the artists issued a series of work entitled Constellations Of Toki
Playing with the concept of mythology, its formation and its effect, Walter & Zoniel developed their own story of a cosmos within the ethereal world of the jellyfish who lived for a while in this human space.
The artists created three celestial systems, each with its own story and relationship to the surrealist space it existed within. The Constellations Of Toki works divide into - Ghost Embryo, Echo Nebular, and Embryo Nebular Just as we humans, feel the need for mythology to relate our worlds to that of the celestial, so the artists projected the same sentiments onto these ethereal mesmerising creatures in a series of abstract photographic works.
